Francis Carr

Managing Partner
Francis is a member of Milton Street’s Investment Committee and oversees all firm activities including fundraising, investing, portfolio company management, and people development. Prior to co-founding Milton Street in 2016, he spent 11 years with The Sterling Group, a middle market private equity firm in Houston. While at Sterling, he participated in 6 platform investments and numerous add-on acquisitions, representing a total enterprise value in excess of $2 billion. Francis currently serves as Chairman of the Board at IC Biomedical and Kreg Therapeutics and has previously sat on the boards of American Trailer Rental Group (Chairman), ZXP Technologies, American Bath Group, BTEC Turbines, CST Industries, DexKo Global, Liqui-Box, and Stackpole. Francis received his B.A. in economics from the University of Virginia and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.

Bob Hogan

Bob is a member of Milton Street’s Investment Committee and oversees all firm activities including fundraising, investing, portfolio company management, and people development. Prior to joining Milton Street in 2018, he was an Operating Partner with The Sterling Group, a middle market private equity firm in Houston, where he was responsible for leading strategic, operational, and commercial best practices and continuous improvement initiatives across the firm’s diverse portfolio. Bob currently serves as the Chairman of the Board at ZXP Technologies and Woodsage, sits on the board of IC Biomedical, and has previously sat on the boards of CST Industries, Process Barron, Specified Air, Time Manufacturing, American Bath Group (Chairman), and Radix Wire and Cable (Executive Chairman). Before Sterling, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of AmerCable from 1993 to 2012. Bob grew AmerCable from a small U.S. manufacturing company to a global leader in the industrial, resources, and renewable energy markets. During his tenure as CEO, AmerCable went through three management-led buyouts with separate private equity partners (Wingate Partners, Industrial Growth Partners, and Quintana Energy Partners) before being sold to Paris-based Nexans, S.A. in 2012. Bob received his B.S. and M.S. in accounting from Virginia Tech University and has been an active member of YPO/YPO Gold since 1995.
Kevin Crook

Kevin Crook

Partner
Kevin is a member of Milton Street’s Investment Committee and responsible for transaction evaluation and execution, portfolio company management, and compliance. Prior to joining Milton Street in 2018, he was with The Sterling Group, a middle market private equity firm in Houston, both as an investment professional and an adjunct member of the management team for portfolio companies American Bath Group and Safe Fleet where he led a number of projects. Kevin began his career in the energy investment banking group at Raymond James, focused on public capital raises and M&A advisory work. Kevin currently sits on the boards of Woodsage and Kreg Therapeutics. Kevin received his B.S.M. in finance from Tulane University.

Tim Bernica

Partner
Tim is a member of Milton Street’s Investment Committee and responsible for transaction evaluation and execution, portfolio company management, and deal sourcing. Prior to joining Milton Street in 2018, he spent 3 years at The Sterling Group where he worked extensively on Sterling’s building products distribution consolidation platform. Tim began his career in the energy investment banking group at Lazard Freres, focused on M&A and restructuring advisory work. Tim currently sits on the boards of IC Biomedical and ZXP Technologies. Tim received his B.S. in systems engineering and B.A. in economics from the University of Virginia.

Hunter Nelson

Senior Partner
Hunter is a member of Milton Street’s Investment Committee and sits on the boards of various Milton Street portfolio companies. Prior to co-founding Milton Street in 2016, he was with The Sterling Group, a middle market private equity firm in Houston, which he joined in 1989 following the sale of Fiber Industries, where he served as Vice President of Administration and General Counsel. Hunter has sat on the boards of Roofing Supply Group, Propex, Panolam, Sterling Diagnostic Imaging, Sterling Chemicals, and DexKo Global. Additionally, he became partner in the law firm of Andrews & Kurth LLP after joining in 1979. Hunter received his B.B.A. in accounting and J.D. with honors from The University of Texas at Austin.
Don Shaver

Don Shaver

Senior Partner
Don is a member of Milton Street’s Investment Committee and sits on the boards of various Milton Street portfolio companies. Prior to co-founding Milton Street in 2016, he was a senior partner and Chief Financial Officer of National Pump & Compressor Ltd., a business he and another partner started in 2007 and sold to United Rentals in 2014. Additionally, he spent 30 years with accounting and tax advisory firms, including most recently as a Partner with Cook Shaver Parker & Williams, P.C. out of Beaumont, Texas. Don received his B.B.A. in accounting from Lamar University and is a CPA.
Kendall Childers

Kendall Childers

Vice President, Business Development
Kendall leads Milton Street’s deal sourcing and marketing activities. Prior to joining Milton Street in 2021, she spent over 6 years at BBVA in their Sponsor Finance group where she executed and managed leveraged loans to private equity backed companies across industries. Kendall began her career in the audit advisory group at KPMG. Kendall received her B.S. and M.S. in accounting from the University of San Diego.

Brian Hensley

Vice President
Brian is responsible for transaction evaluation and execution and portfolio company management. Prior to joining Milton Street in 2021, he spent over 5 years at Intrepid Financial Partners where he advised on M&A, restructuring, and capital raises in the energy sector. Additionally, he was a mezzanine lender at Macquarie and a merchant banking analyst at Parkman Whaling. Brian received his B.B.A. in finance from Southern Methodist University.
Emily Nelson

Emily Nelson

Associate, Business Development
Emily is responsible for investor relations and deal sourcing. Prior to joining Milton Street in 2016, she served as Executive Assistant at Crane Nelson, a middle market private equity firm in Houston. Emily received her B.A. in english from The University of Texas at Austin and her M.A. in contemporary art from Sotheby’s Institute of Art, New York.
Reid Shows

Reid Shows

Associate
Reid is responsible for transaction evaluation and execution. Prior to joining Milton Street in 2021, he spent 2 years in the energy and industrials group at Lazard, focused on M&A and restructuring advisory work. Reid received his B.S. in finance and M.S.F. in corporate finance and financial engineering from the University of Alabama.

Paul Labanowski

Associate
Paul is responsible for transaction evaluation and execution. Prior to joining Milton Street in 2022, he spent 2 years in the natural resources investment banking group at Bank of America Securities, focused on M&A advisory work. Paul received a B.B.A. from the University of Michigan, where he concentrated in finance and accounting.
Kinga Lesinska

Kinga Lesinska

Analyst
Kinga is responsible for transaction evaluation and execution. Prior to joining Milton Street in 2021, she served as a finance intern at Clayton Capital Partners, a middle market investment bank in Missouri. Kinga received her B.A. in psychology and M.S. in finance from Lindenwood University, where she was a four-time All-American Athlete.
Annie Kansas

Annie Kansas

Office Manager
Annie is responsible for firm operations and accounting. Prior to joining Milton Street in 2016, she served as Controller and Office Manager at Crane Nelson, a middle market private equity firm in Houston. Additionally, she has acted as the primary bookkeeper and managed human resources and administration for the private family office of Hunter Nelson since 2000. Annie attended the University of Texas at Austin.
